Mobile Tower Installation Rules & Guidelines

  • Regulatory Compliance: All mobile tower installations in India must follow DoT (Department of Telecommunications) regulations.
  • Applicable to All Providers: Rules apply to all telecom companies including Jio, Airtel, Vi, BSNL, MTNL, Indus Towers, and others.
  • Distance from Buildings:
    • 1 antenna: Minimum 20 meters
    • 2 antennas: Minimum 35 meters
    • 4 antennas: Minimum 45 meters
  • NOC Requirement: A No Objection Certificate (NOC) from nearby residents or building authorities is mandatory.
  • Municipal Permissions: Telecom operators must obtain approval from local municipal authorities before installation.
  • Radiation Safety: Must comply with ICNIRP radiation guidelines to ensure public health and environmental safety.
  • Structural Safety Certificate: A certified structural report is required to verify the tower’s physical safety on the selected site.
  • Indemnity Bond: Telecom companies must submit a bond taking full responsibility for any damage, injury, or accident caused by the tower.
  • No Unauthorized Installation: Installing a tower without proper documentation and approval is strictly prohibited.
